Mumbai has been placed under an ‘orange’ category weather alert on July 25, indicating another day of heavy rain after Monday’s brief respite.
 
Orange' alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has also been issued for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudrug, Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara districts till 27th July 2023.
 
The weather bureau has said that rainfall activity is expected to reduce thereafter with moderate showers expected between July 27 and 29. It said that rain will be seen every day but the intensity will keep on reducing. After July 29, rains will further reduce and finally pick up in the initial days of August. However, Thane and Raigad districts will continue to see heavy showers for a few



more days.
 
IMD base weather station in Santacruz recorded just 23mm of rain till 5:30 PM on 24th July 2023.
 
The city’s coastal station at Colaba saw calmer weather than the suburbs, recording just 3.6mm of rain during the day on 24th July 2023.
 
The IMD stated that conditions in the city will continue to remain overcast, and there are chances of heavy rain on 25th July 2023.
 
Despite rainfall, all trains operating on the Mumbai Suburban and Harbour line were running without any delay.
 
Meanwhile, the water level in Mumbai's major lakes has reached its full capacity.
