Ongole Municipality completing 150 years has prompted the district administration to step up efforts to accelerate development and beautification works in the city.
Collector P. Rajababu, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao, Ongole urban development authority chairman Shaik Riyaz and PDCC Bank chairman Kamepalli Seetharamaiah toured the city on Sunday to review the proposed works and arrangements for their inauguration and foundation-laying
programmes.
Officials are exploring the possibility of having State Education Minister Nara Lokesh lay foundation stones and inaugurate the projects on August 28, subject to his availability.
The initiatives are aimed at improving civic infrastructure and giving Ongole a facelift as the historic city marks its 150th year. Municipal Engineer Yesaiah, DEE Padmaja and other officials accompanied the delegation.
