In Jammu and Kashmir, one BSF jawan was martyred while another injured after terrorists carried out an attack on BSF and adjoining army camps in Baramulla district last night. Two Rashtriya Rifles jawans were also injured. An unknown number of terrorists had entered the 46 Rashtriya Rifles camp through an adjoining BSF camp firing indiscriminately and lobbing grenades. Two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces. Firing was also reported from adjacent houses located near the camps. Udhampur-based Northern Command said in a tweet that the situation is under control.
A search and cordon operation is underway to secure the area. The

attack comes barely four days after the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes and destroyed seven terror launch pads across the LoC. Exactly a fortnight ago, terrorists had struck at army brigade headquarters at Uri, killing 19 soldiers.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is monitoring the situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the attack. He reviewed the security situation with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Mr Singh also spoke to BSF Director General and asked him to provide best medical facilities to the injured soldiers. He offered condolences on the death of a soldier and expressed solidarity with his family.
