Om Birla Pays Tribute To Param Vir Chakra Awardee Piru Singh Shekhawat

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has paid tributes to Param Vir Chakra recipient Company Havildar Major Piru Singh Shekhawat on his birth anniversary.

In a social media post, Mr Birla said that the indomitable courage, extraordinary valour and supreme sacrifice displayed by Piru Singh in the 1947?48 war will forever remain etched in the golden chapters of India?s military history.

He added that even after



being grievously wounded on the battlefield, Piru Singh stood firm against the enemy until his last breath, never retreating from his duty. The Lok Sabha Speaker highlighted that it is due to such immortal sacrifice that the country?s borders remain secure and the nation?s head is held high with pride.

Mr Birla further said that the legacy of their sacrifice, courage and dedication to the nation continues to inspire generations.
