Odisha Police Recover 110 Lost, Stolen Mobile Phones

In a major relief for mobile phone users, Odisha Police recovered 110 lost and stolen mobile phones during a month-long special drive in Koraput district and returned them to their rightful owners on Wednesday. 

The special operation was carried out by four police stations under the Jeypore Sub-Division following complaints lodged by victims regarding missing and stolen mobile phones. 

Through sustained investigation and technical tracking, police traced the devices from different locations and recovered them before handing them



back to their owners.

According to police officials, Jeypore Police Station recovered the highest number of devices, accounting for 50 mobile phones, while Borigumma Police Station recovered 25. 

The remaining 35 mobile phones were recovered by the other police stations under the Jeypore Sub-Division. Jeypore Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Archita Mittal said the recoveries were made with the help of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, a centralised platform developed to trace and block lost or stolen mobile phones.
