NTR district on Saturday reinforced its commitment to public health and environmental sustainability through yoga promotion and an anti-plastic awareness campaign led by district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha.

Ahead of International Yoga Day, the Intermediate Education Department organised a Students' Theme Yoga programme on the banks of the Krishna River at Beram Park. Hundreds of students participated, performing yoga asanas and artistic

displays.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Lakshmisha said yoga helps improve concentration, self-confidence, discipline and mental well-being, enabling students to cope better with stress and academic pressures. "Yoga is the foundation for building a healthy future generation.

Every student should make it a part of daily life," he said. The collector highlighted the state government's Yogandhra initiative, aimed at promoting a healthy and prosperous Andhra Pradesh through the widespread adoption of yoga.
