Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi appeared before Delhi's Patiala House Court on Friday and recorded her statement in connection with the Rs 215 crore extortion case against jailed 'conman' Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Fatehi's statement would serve as evidence and she would be regarded as a witness in the case at hand.

Previously, Fatehi refuted all allegations and said she had nothing to do with the extortion case. She claimed that she had no contact with Sukesh Chandrashekhar, only through his wife, Leena Maria Paul.

Nora’s statement was recorded under section 164 (recording of confessions and statements) of the CrPC.

Earlier, Nora Fatehi’s statement was recorded by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police.

The Delhi Police had earlier said that Nora Fatehi had no direct connection with Jacqueline Fernandez, who had also been linked with Sukesh Chandrashekhar. She was earlier called to be questioned together with Pinky Irani.

Along with a probe by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing officers asked Nora Fatehir about an event she had attended in Chennai in December 2020. During her previous interrogation, she was asked about her chats with Sukesh Chandrashekhar and their association.
