Law minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar has alleged that DMK president M.K. Stalin and Opposition leader, Udhayanidhi Stalin were attempting to lure TVK MLAs to destabilise the government and facilitate a coalition government involving the DMK and AIADMK with the BJP’s support.
Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a loan distribution programme for women’s self-help groups at the government medical college auditorium in Madurai on Wednesday,
Nirmal Kumar said attempts to poach MLAs were continuing despite cases having already been registered against AIADMK and DMK members in connection with alleged horse-trading. A person from Karur had also been arrested in this connection, he said.
The minister alleged that Stalin and Udhayanidhi were intensifying efforts to buy over MLAs and, hence, repeatedly predicting how long the present government would last, to create political uncertainty.
