A new France Visa Application Centre was opened in Bengaluru on Monday (May 15, 2017), making it easier for applicants residing in and around the city to apply for French visas. 
Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, inaugurated the new centre in the presence of dignitaries from French ministries, the Embassy of France, Consulate General of France, Atout France (France's official Tourism Development Agency), and VFS Global.
French visa applicants have six dedicated submission counters and separate biometric booths as well as dedicated services in the Premium Lounge. Applicants can also pay through credit and debit cards (in addition to cash payments) at the Visa Application Centre.

VFS Global said that it signed an agreement with Atout France, the France Tourism Development Agency, to promote the country in India. A first-of-its-kind France "tourism kiosk" offering retail travel products, such as sightseeing/city tours and destination information, has been set up at the new Visa Application Centre in Bengaluru. Similar kiosks will be set up in other cities in the coming months – Delhi and Mumbai being next.
VFS Global has been serving the Government of France since 2004, and currently operates 52 Visa Application Centres for the client government in 19 countries around the globe. Applicants in Indian can apply for France visas through VFS Global centres in 14 cities.
