Navratri Begins Today With Full Devotion And Gaiety

The festival of Navratri is celebrated in Punjab with full devotion and gaiety. The temples are beautifully decorated with colourful flowers. On this occasion, religious programs are going on continuously and Goddess Durga is being worshipped.

At the beginning of Navratri of Chaitra month and Hindu New Year, various temples of Punjab were crowded with devotees since morning. In all other small and big temples of the



state including Shri Durgiana Temple of Amritsar, Mata Kalidevi Temple of Patiala and Shri Devi Talab Temple of Jalandhar, devotees are bowing down with full devotion before various forms of Goddess Durga. Today on the first day of Navratri, the Shailputri form of Goddess Durga is being worshipped. Havan Yagya and religious programs have been organized in the temples since morning.
