Nation also pays homage to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary today.A number of functions will be organised to mark the occasion. A host of dignitaries will pay tributes to him at his Samadhi

Vijay Ghat in Delhi.

Lal Bahadur Shastri led the country during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965 and gave the slogan - Jai Jawan Jai Kisan which is remembered even today.
