The Nation is commemorating the 400th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, today. Born in Amritsar, Punjab, in 1621, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was the youngest son of Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Sikh guru. Considered a principled and fearless warrior, he was a spiritual scholar and poet whose 115 hymns are included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
 
On the



special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet said that he bows to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, who is widely respected globally for his courage and efforts to serve the downtrodden. The Prime Minister  said that Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji refused to bow to tyranny and injustice and his supreme sacrifice gives strength and motivation to many.
