After the allegations of forced religious conversions and sexual harassment at a TCS-linked BPO in Nashik, another similar incident has surfaced from Maharashtra, in which an NGO owner, Riyaz Kazi, has been arrested in Nagpur over alleged religious conversion and molestation within his organisation.
The complainants include women who were working within the NGO itself, said police. According to police, Kazi, who manages ‘Fikar Foundation’ and ‘Padhe
Hum, Padhaye Hum,’ is accused of using these NGOs to exert pressure on women to convert to Islam, enforce Islamic dress codes, and compel adherence to specific religious practices. The complainants include women who were working within the NGO itself.
“We received complaints from some victims, based on which the accused has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken considering all aspects of the case,” police official said.
