A 43-year-old man was booked by the Mankhurd Police after a video surfaced showing his pitbull attacking a young boy in the PMGP MHADA Colony, while he allegedly stood by laughing.
The incident took place around 10 pm on July 17. According to police, the child, identified as Humza, was playing inside a parked auto-rickshaw when the accused, Mohammad Sohail Hasan Khan—an AC repair technician and the dog’s owner—allowed the pitbull to enter the vehicle.
In the video, the dog is seen beside the visibly scared child, while
Khan, seated in the front of the rickshaw, appears to find the situation amusing.
He allegedly egged the dog on as the boy became increasingly terrified. Moments later, the pitbull leapt and bit the child on his chin and hand. As the boy tried to flee the auto, the dog chased him and further injured him, grabbing at his clothes.
Throughout the episode, Khan reportedly remained seated and continued to laugh. Police have booked Khan under relevant sections for endangering the life of a child and causing hurt through negligent conduct.
