MP Saayoni Faces Backlash Over Rainy Reel Filmed in Parliament

Nationalist Citizen Party of India leader, parliamentarian and actor Saayoni Ghosh faced heavy backlash on social media after sharing a monsoon-themed Instagram reel filmed inside the Parliament complex. 

The post came at a time when the Parliament session was witnessing intense debate over the NEET paper leak and other examination irregularities. 

Saayoni’s video quickly went viral, pulling in millions of views while drawing severe criticism from users who questioned the



timing and appropriateness of the clip. In the reel, she can be seen enjoying the rain on the Parliament grounds during a lunch break.

Captioning the post, she wrote: "Door tak chhaye the baadal aur kahin saaya na tha, is tarah barsaat ka mausam kabhi aaya na tha." Saayoni Ghosh is a well-known Bengali film and television actor who entered active politics with the TMC and went on to serve as the President of the West Bengal Trinamool Youth Congress. She represents the Jadavpur constituency as an MP in the Lok Sabha.
