New Delhi: Pakistan Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can order another surgical strike ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Reacting to the comment made by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's close aide, the BJP on Thursday said it shows that terrorist camps are still active there.

The BJP further asserted that the reaction of the Pakistani minister is nothing but an "admission of self-guilt". While addressing a press conference in Lahore, Rashid had said: "2019 is very important for Pakistan. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP has lost elections in five states in his country. To appease his far-right constituents before the next general election in 2019, Modi can order surgical strikes in Pakistan. This is what I am seeing to happen."

Giving a

sharp reply, BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said the Pakistani government, which was elected because of its promise to make a 'Naya Pakistan' seems to be obsessed with India.

"The statement should be seen as an admission of self-guilt by the Pakistani establishment that terrorist camps are obviously not only still existing but active and therefore puts an acceptance at their end that India does have a right to protect its borders and security," said Kohli.

In a well-thought-out and executed operation on the intervening night of September 28-29, 2016, the Indian Army moved across the LoC and hit four terror launch pads that were under the guard of a Pakistani post located 700 metres from the LoC. As per the assessment reports of radio intercepts, approximately 20 terrorists were killed in the surgical strike.
