Secretary in Minority Affairs Ministry Sailesh, who is part of Minority Affairs Ministry team visiting Kashmir, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar yesterday. He apprised the Governor about the ongoing assessment of the possibilities existing for the socio-economic development of the region, welfare of the minorities and skill development of the youth.

The Governor emphasised the need for ensuring holistic development of Jammu & Kashmir and extending benefits of various Central government schemes to the people. He also stressed imparting needed skills to the youth in sync with the job market



requirements.

A team of Minority Affairs Ministry is on a two-day visit to Kashmir since yesterday. It will identify the areas to implement Central government's development projects in the valley.

The team will assess the need of opening schools, colleges, skill development centres, hospitals and other facilities for the development of the J&K and Ladakh. After abrogation of Article 370 & 35 A, this is the first visit of any Central team to Kashmir that will prepare a comprehensive report on the possibilities of socio-economic development projects in J&K and Ladakh.
