Milind Deora appoints as Mumbai Congress chief

The Congress on Monday appointed former union minister Milind Deora as Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) chief, replacing Sanjay Nirupam. 

A statement from the party said, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appointed Milind Deora as the new president of the Mumbai Regional Congress



Committee. 

Mr Nirupam, meanwhile, was nominated as the party candidate from the Mumbai North West Lok Sabha constituency. 

He represented North Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency from 2009 to 2014. He was appointed the president of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee in 2015.
