Prime Minister of Mauritius Navinchandra Ramgoolam will undertake a state visit to India from 9th to 16th of this month. Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal said, this will be the first overseas bilateral visit of Mr Ramgoolam to India in his current term.
He said, during this visit, apart from Delhi, the Prime Minister of Mauritius will also visit Mumbai, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Tirupati.
On a media question on protests in Australia against Indians, Mr Jaiswal said that anti-immigrant protests happened in many cities across
Australia on 31st August and the Indian High Commissioner and Consulate Generals are in regular touch with the Australian government as also with the community members in this regard. He said, many senior leaders and politicians both from the Australian government side and also from the opposition side, have issued statements supporting the multicultural identity of Australia.
The Spokesperson said, Government of India remains committed to securing the welfare and well-being of all Indians abroad, and it is in touch with the Australian Government, as also with the diaspora organisation in Australia.
