All roads in Kerala?s capital, Thiruvananthapuram, are leading to the Central Stadium, where the oath-taking ceremony of the Congress-led UDF Government will be held at 10 am.
Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the new Cabinet. Over 50,000 passes have been issued for the event, and a massive stage has been set up for Chief Minister-designate V. D. Satheeshan and his 20-member Cabinet. Long queues have formed outside the four entry points to the stadium as
hundreds wait to get in.
UDF workers from all corners of Kerala, from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam to Idukki, have gathered in the state capital for the occasion.
The enthusiasm in the air is just like what was seen outside the counting centers on May 4, when the UDF came to power with a massive victory, winning 102 of the 140 seats in the Kerala Assembly. Since the initial entry is restricted to pass holders, workers are gathering outside the stadium in large numbers.
