Man Strangulates Wife To Death in Karnataka Over Her Obesity

In a heart-wrenching incident, a nab strangulated his wife to death complaining that she was obese and could not bear children in Dharwad, Karnataka. Priyanka was working as a staff nurse. 

She got married to Basavaraj Vaddar in December 2024. Within a few days of the marriage, her life became traumatic as her husband and his family began harassing her for additional dowry and gold. 

During police investigation, it was found that she was a victim of both physical and mental harassment.

Priyanka saying she is obese and so he does not like her. Further, he used to accuse her of not being able to bear children, Priyanka's family members alleged. 

They also said that Priyanka conceived twice after marriage but during both times, her pregnancy got aborted as she was under constant agony and mental pressure. 

On Monday night, Basavaraj strangulated Priyanka to death but the incident came to light two days later. Following a complaint from Priyanka's family members, a case has been registered against Basavaraj and his family members.
