Kolkata: Two local youths lynched a 35-year-old man in the Howrah district of West Bengal after he tried to stop his young daughter from being abused.

One of the youths has been taken into custody by the police, but the other is running away. It is learned that the two are brothers.

Swati Bhangalia, the superintendent of the Howrah (rural) police, claims that cases involving murder and violations of various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have been filed.

The accused brothers are brothers. One of them has already been detained by us. Bhangalia stated, "The other accused person is running



away."

The ten-year-old minor girl was on her way home from her tuition class on Sunday evening. She was raped and stopped by the two suspects. Her father rushed to the scene as soon as he heard the news.

The father voiced his displeasure and attempted to thwart the accused's evil plans. He was severely assaulted by the two accused after they resisted. As the accused fled the scene, he fell to the ground, bleeding profusely.

First, the victim was taken to a nearby hospital. He was moved to the Uluberia Sub-Divisional Hospital on Monday as his condition deteriorated, where he passed away on Tuesday morning.

At the nearby police station, the victim's family filed a complaint.
