A 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death with sharp weapons, stones, and sticks by a group of men in the Sanganer Sadar area.

The attack occurred after the victim objected to the men drinking outside his brother's shop, police said on Wednesday. Station House Officer Anil Jaiman said after the victim, Sanju Sharma, objected to the group drinking outside his brother's shop, the accused initially left but returned shortly after and began pelting stones at the victim's

house.

The SHO said Sharma came out to reason with them, but the group allegedly attacked him.

When family members intervened to rescue him, the assailants also assaulted them, injuring four people, police said. Sharma, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was rushed to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, where he succumbed during treatment on Wednesday morning, police said.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's father, Kailash Sharma, police registered a murder case.
