A woman was injured after her husband allegedly attacked her with a knife in the Enkuru Police Station in Khammam district. The incident took place late on Monday evening.
The victim, Bhukhya Rajani, sustained injuries to both her hands in the attack. According to the police, Rajani, who belongs to Sathanigudem, got married to Bhukhya Rambabu of Errabodu Thanda around 16 years ago. The couple has a son. Following marital disputes, they had been living separately for the past few months.
On Monday, Rajani came to SBI
branch at Enkuru to deposit the amount of the SHG group. Rambabu came there and picked up a quarrel with her. Upon the information from bank staff, the police rushed to the bank and asked her to come to the police station to lodge a complaint against her husband While Rajani was writing her complaint at the police station, Rambabu allegedly entered the premises and attacked her with a knife, causing injuries to both her hands.
The police caught him and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections, including attempt to murder.
