West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee has reiterated her demand for re-introduction of ballot papers instead of EVMs for voting in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Addressing a public rally to observe ‘Shahid Divas organized by her party in Kolkata yesterday afternoon, Ms. Banerjee declared that voting in civic bodies like Municipalities and Corporations conducted by the State Election Commission will now be taken through ballot papers. The Trinamool Congress Chief also criticized the Election Commission for its move to de-register her party from the category of National Party.

Ms. Banerjee alleged that the BJP is threatening Trinamool Congress leaders by using Central Agencies like the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. She cautioned the BJP leaders on Cut Money issue and said that the administration will take appropriate action if anybody takes law in his own hands.
