Mumbai: Maharashtra’s State Election Commission has announced bye-elections for Dhule, Nandurbar, Akola, Washim and Nagpur Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti.

State Election Commissioner U. P. S. Madan said, voting is scheduled on 5th of next month and counting will be taken up on 6th of October. These bye-elections were scheduled in July



this year, but postponed due to the Supreme Court’s order and COVID pandemic.

Last Tuesday, the apex court cleared that, the State Government’s guidelines about COVID-19 will not be applicable on these elections. Accordingly, the State Election Commission announced a schedule for remaining period.
