Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde informed the Maharashtra Assembly yesterday that the state government will soon decide the policy for the rehabilitation of leprosy patients. He also said that for this purpose, a committee will be formed which will include social activists working in leprosy rehabilitation like Prakash Amte, Vikas Amte and government officials.
State Health Minister Tanaji Sawant informed that disability certificates will be issued to recovered leprosy patients, if they are not being issued. He also said information about leprosy
patients who got jobs under the disability quota will be given to the house.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced in the legislative assembly that the pending financial assistance of farmers will be given by March 31. Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar had asked a question in this regard. He informed that the state government has so far distributed assistance of about 11 and a half thousand crores to the farmers. He informed that the government is with the farmers and has taken many measures to help them.
