Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur has said that the state government will provide all kinds of assistance to the children who have lost their parents during the Corona period and will provide Rs.5 lakh assistance to such children.

She further said that a task force is set up under the chairmanship of District Collector Rajesh Narvekar to rehabilitate every orphan. A survey of orphans is underway and care has been taken to ensure that no child is deprived. Efforts are also being made to increase the childcare fund for child development, Thakur said.

Thakur has said that it is necessary to keep in touch with the child victims and provide emotional support therefore. At present, the number of orphans due is 42 in Thane district.
