In Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis yesterday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects in Naxal affected Gadchiroli district
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said that Gadchiroli is moving towards becoming a ‘Steel Hub’ and a large number of jobs are being provided to local citizens through iron industry projects.
Mr. Fadnavis was addressing a function after the inauguration and laying the foundation stone of various projects of Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited at Konsari in Gadchiroli district.
Expressing the confidence that in the next few years, the per capita income of the people of Gadchiroli will increase , the CM also said, Gadchiroli will become the number one district in the state.
The projects that are inaugurated yesterday include the 5 million tonne per annum iron ore grinding plant at Headari, the 85-km long slurry pipeline between Headari and Konsari with a capacity of 10 million tonne per annum, and the 4 million tonne per annum pellet
plant at Konsari.
In addition, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of 4.5 million tonne per annum integrated steel plant at Konsari, a 100-bed hospital, a CBSE school and an employee colony at Somanpally. Chief Minister Fadnavis said that this is an important step towards making Gadchiroli the ‘Steel Hub of India’.
Later in the day , Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also launched ‘Harit Maharashtra, Samruddha Maharashtra’ campaign in Gadchiroli to plant 1 crore saplings and inaugurated tree plantation drives being carried out at 9 different locations.
While reiterating the need to achieve industrial and eco-friendly development by maintaining a balance between Gadchiroli’s natural resources, CM informed that 40 lakh saplings will be planted in Gadachiroli this year and 60 lakh saplings next year.
With this, Gadchiroli will become the first district in the country to achieve the status of a district with 1 Crore trees
