If the Covid-19 situation remains same, Maharashtra can get into another lockdown,” said Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Friday.

While addressing the people of the state on Friday over increasing Covid-19 cases, the chief minister said: “Lot of experts have come with their suggestions. Some said they will oppose the lockdown, a lockdown is not an option, transfer money to those who will lose jobs. An industrialist has also said that rather than lockdown, why can't government improve health facilities. I just have one request to these people, bring doctors for me. Bring me people, who will work for these facilities.”

“People who wish to take to the streets to oppose the lockdown, please come but not to oppose the lockdown. Come out to help the people,

who are working in Covid facilities,” added the CM.

The Maharashtra chief minister added: “To control the rising number of cases, we will need strict restrictions, which will be announced over the next couple of days.”

Talking about the rising cases, he added: “If the present situation continues, hospitals will be full in next few days. I want to request all political parties not indulge into politics, which will play with people's life."

Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, who held a meeting on Friday to review coronavirus situation in the state, addressed the residents around 8:30pm. This comes hours after eateries, bars and restaurants in Pune were announced shut for seven days starting April 3 in view of a substantial rise in Covid-19 cases of late.
