The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved MahaAgri-AI 2025-29, the state’s agriculture-artificial intelligence policy. It aims to bring significant transformation in the agriculture sector through the use of artificial intelligence, generative AI, drones, computer vision, robotics, and predictive analytics. The policy will support key digital agriculture initiatives including AgriStack, Maha-Agritech, Mahavedh, CropSAPP, Agmarknet, Digital Farming Schools, and Maha-DBT.

In a move to improve weather-based agricultural advisory services, the State Cabinet has granted an extension to the Mahavedh project under the central government’s WINDS

(Weather Information Network Data System) initiative. Under this, automated weather stations will be established at the gram panchayat level to ensure accurate, localised weather information across the state.

Approval has also been given for a two-fold increase in the pension for individuals imprisoned during the emergency and their surviving spouses will now also be eligible for pension benefits under the revised Gaurav Yojana. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation has been allotted over 29 hectares of land in the Nashik district for setting up a Tribal Industrial Cluster.
