The Madras High Court has restrained a group of Muslim organisations from going ahead with their proposed anti-CAA stir in front of the Tamil Nadu Assembly in Chennai today. The Federation of Tamil Nadu Islamic and Political Organisations announced that they would lay a siege to the Assembly, which is in session, on Wednesday.

Public

interest litigation was filed asking to deny police permission to the siege. The police told the court, a very short notice has been given by the organisers. After hearing both sides, the court issued an interim injunction against the agitation and asked both sides to file their detailed replies by March 12.
