Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting yesterday with senior officials in Jammu to review the prevailing security scenario in the Union Territory. The LG directed for strong and coordinated measures to wipe out terrorism completely and its entire ecosystem from J&K. Mr. Sinha said, it is the collective resolve of the people of J&K and the nation to destroy the root of terror emanating from our neighbourhood, and we must be resolute to fulfil this mission.
The LG asked the Police to take strong action against Over Ground Workers who are providing logistics to terrorists,
identifying targets for them and helping them to escape. He said, the infrastructure and support system of terrorism in every nook and corner of the Union Territory has to be dismantled permanently, and it should be the government’s priority to ensure a sense of security to the common man.
The LG also directed to further strengthen the security grid and stressed the need for better coordination and synergy among the security agencies. The meeting was attended by DGP, Principal Secretary Home, ADGP CID, Principal Secretary to LG, IGP Jammu and DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range.
