Srinagar: In Kashmir Valley, the Lieutenant Governor's Advisor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar addressed a gathering at SK Stadium in Srinagar on the occasion of Republic Day. He highlighted the works and developmental projects carried out in Jammu and Kashmir by the LG-led administration. He said in the last three years, Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing a new dawn in terms of development, peace and progress. 

He said that the incumbent administration is giving priority to the health sector and many initiatives have been taken to ensure better healthcare to the people. He said the government has come-up with two AIIMS in Jammu and Kashmir at the cost of Rs 4000 crore.

Mr Bhatnagar informed that the work for AIIMS in Jammu will be completed this year. For AIIMS in Kashmir,



the work will be completed by 2025. He said at the cost of Rs 1,595 crore, seven new medical colleges, fifteen nursing colleges costing  Rs 212 crore and two cancer institutes are being executed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr Bhatnagar said that the travel time between Srinagar and Jammu has been reduced from ten hours to five hours. He said the international flight between Srinagar and Sharjah has commenced while two new airport terminals are coming-up at Jammu and Srinagar airports. 

He informed that  Kashmir Valley will be connected with Kanyakumari through rail network by the next year. Work on Light Metro Rail Projects in Jammu and Srinagar cities will start this year at an estimated cost of 10,500 crore.
