KSEB Employees Install Free Power Connection for Elderly Keralam Woman

A 72-year-old woman with hearing and speech disabilities who lives alone in Mulakkulam has got an electricity connection to her home, courtesy of KSEB employees who paid for the work themselves, officials said on Saturday.

Ammini, a resident of Ward 9 of Mulakkulam panchayat, had been living alone in her house without an electricity connection. In a Facebook post, the Kerala State Electricity Board highlighted the gesture by its employees.

KSEB workers under its Peruva section office carried



out the wiring of the house free of cost, installed lights and a fan and erected an electricity post to provide the connection, the post said. 

The employees themselves bore the expenses for the wiring work, it said. Section Office Assistant Engineer Smita K V switched on the new connection. 

The Peruva section staff had undertaken a similar initiative last year, wiring a one-room house where an economically disadvantaged woman lived and providing an electricity connection, KSEB said.
