Thirvananthapuram: Kerala Legislative Assembly yesterday paid homage to people who had lost their lives in the massive earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the resolution and all the members of the house stood in silence for a few moments in honour of the earthquake victims.  

The Chief Minister said that India has already taken steps to send assistance for rescue and relief operations and to deliver medical



aid in affected areas.  

The resolution expressed Kerala's willingness to provide all possible assistance.  The hardships being faced by the affected people make us deeply sad and it is time to extend a helping hand, added the Chief Minister.

The Kerala Government also announced humanitarian assistance worth 10 Crore rupees for the quake-hit regions in Turkey and Syria.
