Kozikode: Kerala Government has decided to ease restrictions in the Nipah containment zones of Kozhikode district. The decision was taken as the incubation period of 14 days was over and no new cases have been reported from the area.

Samples of 143 persons, who were in the contact list of the

child who succumbed to Nipah virus last week, have tested negative so far. However, ward 9 in the Chathamangalam panchayat will continue to be a containment zone.

The decision was taken after consultations with an expert committee and medical board.
