In a move aimed at cracking down on rowdy elements and strengthening law and order, Raichur police have constituted anti-rowdy squads in all taluks of the district.
According to Raichur SP Arunangshu Giri, the newly formed squads will focus on preventing criminal activities, maintaining surveillance on troublemakers, and ensuring that law and order is not disturbed.
The squads, comprising senior police officers, have been tasked with closely monitoring the activities and movements of known rowdy-sheeters and other habitual offenders. Police said the teams would keep
watch on individuals involved in activities that could disturb public peace and take legal action wherever necessary.
The initiative follows directions issued by the Karnataka government to step up efforts against rowdyism and criminal activities. The district police have also appealed to the public to share information about rowdy activities in their localities.
Citizens can contact the nearest police station, the Raichur Police Control Room, or dial the emergency helpline 112 to report such incidents. Officials have assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
