The Karnataka State Cabinet has yesterday approved the setting up of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged scams of the previous government during the COVID pandemic. Briefing media persons in Bengaluru yesterday, Karnataka Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil informed that, based on the Justice Michael D’Cunha Committee report, the Cabinet has made this decision and a Cabinet Sub-Committee will also be formed for the



purpose. 

The first report of retired High Court Judge John Michael D’Cunha pointed out that 7,223 crore rupees in misappropriation were found in the procurement of equipment and other variables through administrative malpractices during the COVID pandemic in the state. The report has also recommended recovering 500 crore rupees from those responsible for the alleged scam.”
