The resignation of Siddaramaiah to the post of Chief Minister has been accepted by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Friday on his return from his visit to Madhya Pradesh.
In Governor?s absence, Siddaramaiah tendered his resignation letter to Special Secretary to Governor Prabhu Shankar on Thursday.
The resignation tendered by Siddaramaiah stated ?I hereby tender
my resignation as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Please accept it.?
On accepting the resignation, Governor in a notification stated the resignation tendered by Siddaramaiah has been accepted and the dissolved Council of Ministers headed by him with immediate effect. He, however, said Siddaramaiah shall continue to function as Chief Minister until alternative arrangements are made.
