Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has welcomed the Supreme Court judgement to dismiss the Special Leave Petition filed by the Directorate of Enforcement, ED in MUDA case. The ED had challenged the Karnataka High Court order quashing the ED notice issued to the wife of Karnataka Chief Minister, B M Parvathi and Urban Development minister Byrathi Suresh. Siddaramaiah has stated that by quashing ED summons in the MUDA site allotment case, the apex court has not only exposed the malice behind the case but has also unequivocally cleared their names of all

allegations.

The ED is probing a case pertaining to the allegations of irregularities in the allocation of housing sites by MUDA to the Chief Minister’s wife Parvathi and Minister Byrathi Suresh. According to the complaint, the Chief Minister’s wife was gifted over three acres of land by her brother Mallikarjuna Swamy. MUDA, which notified the said land, allotted 14 sites as compensation to Parvathi in an upmarket Vijayanagar layout in Mysuru city, disproportionate to the land value acquired by MUDA.
