Karnataka Approves Rs 5 cr project for upgrading Udupi’s Lighthouse

In a significant boost to coastal tourism, the state government has cleared a Rs 5-crore project for upgrading Udupi’s Lighthouse Beach while earmarking fresh grants for Kambala events and key infrastructure works across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
Responding to a starred question raised by Puttur MLA
Ashok Kumar Rai during the Question Hour at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism Minister HK Patil informed the Assembly that the state government will release a grant of Rs 5 lakh each for 23 Kambala events in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts that have received approval from the District Kambala Committee.
