Minister for IT and NRI Affairs K T Rama Rao on Tuesday wrote a letter to the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to come to the rescue of Indian employees working in Bin Laden Group in Gulf countries, who were facing hardships like cancellation of visas, terminations and non-payment of salaries.
The Minister, in his letter, said one of the largest construction companies in Saudi Arabia Bin Laden Group Company run by the family of Osama Bin Laden having branches in Riyadh, Jeddah, Macca, Madina, Dubai and other



countries was employing 2.5 lakh people. A good number of the workforce was from India and many are from Telangana.
Rama Rao said the company was terminating the employees for the last two-three months and nearly 50,000 employees were removed from the company and their visas were also cancelled. 
He said the employees were not in a position to come back to India and they became illegal migrants without visa.  The company was not responding properly to the employees approaching them, he said.
