Justice Yashwant Resigns Amid Cash Discovery Controversy

Justice Yashwant Varma of the Allahabad High Court has submitted his resignation to the President, amid an ongoing controversy over the alleged discovery of cash at his residence.
Justice Varma had earlier been transferred from the Delhi High Court back to Allahabad following the
allegations. He took oath at the Allahabad High Court on April 5, 2025.

The judge is currently facing an in-house inquiry into the matter. In addition, the developments have raised the possibility of parliamentary removal proceedings being initiated in connection with the allegations.
