The agitating junior doctors said that they have called off their strike temporarily considering the best interests of patients and continuation of patient care.

The Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association (APJUDA) said it expected the government to respond to its demands and arrive at an amicable solution at the earliest.

APJUDA said that the high court has asked them to call off the strike and continue patient services, while directing the state

government to resolve the issues within two weeks.

The association said only the strike had been temporarily called off and its pursuit for justice would continue through alternative courses of action. If an amicable solution was not reached, it said it would explore other legal measures.

The High Court appreciated the efforts of doctors in managing healthcare in the state and acknowledged their genuine demands, APJUDA said in a release late on Tuesday.
