Jihad Howladar, the prime suspect of Anwarul Azim Anar murder case has been sent to 12-day CID custody by Barasat District and Sessions Judges Court, North 24 Parganas. Jihad had been arrested by the CID on Thursday and was produced at the court today. Anwarul was the sitting MP of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency.

In addition to verifying Jihad’s statement, the main objective of the Intelligence department is to recover the body parts of Anwarul. 24-year-old Jihad’s home is at Barakpur village of Digholia

During the interrogation, Jihad admitted that he, along with three other persons, had strangled the MP at his flat in New Town on the orders of Akhtaruzzaman. A case has been filed against Jihad under Sections 302, 201, 120B and 364 of IPC.
