Many have taken to social media in the past few days to show their 'magnetic powers' after receiving vaccine against coronavirus disease. In the latest case, a man from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand claimed to have developed magnetic powers after taking the Covid vaccine.

Speaking to Reporters , Tahir Ansari said he got jabbed on Saturday and decided to test his 'magnetic strength' after watching a video of the Nasik man who had claimed that he had developed magnetic power after taking the second dose of the vaccine.

Tahir Ansari claimed that he also tried the same by using spoons, forks and coins and was surprised to see them sticking to his body. Soon, a health department team reached Tahir Ansari's home for his check-up.

Following the check-up, Dr SK Ved Rajan told Tahir that there was no magnetic center found in his body. He, however, asked him to stay at home for 48 hours while instructing health department officials to

monitor his health.

This is not the first time a man has claimed to have developed magnetic powers after Covid vaccine. Earlier, a video of a Nasik man with spoons sticking to his body had gone viral on social media.

Arvind Sonar, 71, claimed that magnetic power had arisen in his body due to which steel objects were sticking very easily to him after he got the second dose of vaccine.

Debunking such claims, the Centre came out with a clarification and said that Covid-19 vaccines were completely safe and do not contain any metal-based ingredient.

The Press Information Bureau's (PIB) PIB Fact Check said claims about Covid-19 vaccines giving magnetic superpowers are "baseless".

"Vaccines cannot cause a magnetic reaction in the human body. Covid-19 vaccines are completely safe and do not contain any metal-based ingredients," the PIB Fact Check team said.
