In a moving tribute to courage and selflessness, a government-run school in south Kashmir?s Anantnag district has been renamed after Pahalgam hero Aadil Hussain Shah.
The decision commemorates his supreme sacrifice while confronting terrorists who opened fire on tourists at the scenic Baisaran meadow on April 22 last year, an incident that shocked the region and the nation.
The institution, formerly known as Hapatnar High School, has now been officially rechristened as Shaheed Aadil Memorial High School.
The renaming ceremony, held
in the Hapatnar area near Pahalgam was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Education and Health Sakeena Itoo, along with local officials and members of the community. The gesture stands as a lasting acknowledgement of Aadil?s bravery and his ultimate act of sacrifice in the face of grave danger.
Shah, a local tourist guide and pony handler, lost his life while trying to protect visitors during the terror attack in Pahalgam.
His courageous actions, carried out in a moment of extreme peril, drew widespread admiration across J&K and beyond.
