Former chief minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed party legislators to raise issues of public interest and highlight the government's failures during the ensuing Assembly sessions.

Addressing the YSRC legislative party members here on Wednesday, Jagan Mohan Reddy said the government was unwilling to grant the Leader of the Opposition status to the YSRC, the principal opposition party,

in an attempt to gag its voice.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said he would raise issues through the media and called upon legislators to raise issues including fee reimbursement. Meanwhile, Jagan Mohan Reddy announced Thumati Madhava Rao as the party’s nominee for the vacant post of Deputy Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and directed party MLCs to extend their full support to his candidature.
