IT Department set up control room in Mumbai to curb use of black money in General Elections

Investigation Directorates of Income Tax has set up a round the clock control room in Mumbai to curb the use of black money in General Elections 2019. 

A press release from the department informs that the office of the Director General of Income tax (Investigation) is keeping a strict vigil over the movement of cash and valuables and on other unlawful means of influencing elections in Mumbai, so as to take necessary action under Income Tax

In an appeal to citizens, the tax department has asked vigilant citizens to pass on information regarding stocking, movement and distribution of black money, cash, gold or silver on the designated numbers.
